Okay - I really only have a couple recipes, so all you people who actually know how to cook wonderful Brasilian food, please post!  Here’s one I have:

Brasilian Stroganoff

2 - 4 lbs beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 med. onion, finely chopped
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 - 3/4 tsp dry oregano
1/4 cup white wine
3 - 4 Tbsp catsup
3 Tbsp yellow mustard
Heavy cream or creme de leite

Cut up meat into 1 inch pieces.  Put into a bowl and mix with garlic, half of the onion, salt, nutmeg, oregano and wine.  Let it marinate for 1 hour.  Saute remainder of onion with a bit of oil.  Add meat and marinade to the pan and cook.  If it is a bit dry, add a few Tbsp water and cook a little while longer.  Add catsup and mustard.  Just before serving add cream (to make a sauce) and let cook for about 1 minute.  Serve over white rice or mashed potatoes.

(obviously the lady I got this from didn’t believe in exact measurements.... It turns out really well though.)

I too am in search of great Brazilian recipes. Does anyone have a really great Churrasco recipe. Most only use salt and I was looking for something perhaps a little more flavorful. Waiting with eager tongue and growling stomach,

Here is the way I make Churrasco:

Finely chop a bunch of fresh garlic and mix it with coarse salt. With your hands, rub the salt garlic mixture into the meat and let it sit for about a half hour while your coals are acendendo. Before you put the meat on the coals, brush off the excess salt and garlic and cook the meat to perfection, which is however you like it.
I do a lot of cooking Brazilian food in my home, so when I get more time I will post some of my many recipes. Does anyone miss shushu? I make it a lot now since I found it at a local Mexican store in my area. In Mexico it is Chayote.
